MIDI Locator Online
MIDI Locator is a MIDI/Audio sequencer for standard MIDI files. It uses your MIDI output or an integrated "Virtual Sample Player" for playing your music. To create own instruments from wave files, it also includes a full feature wave editor.
License
There are two versions of MIDI Locator.
- A freeware version "MIDI Locator free !" which includes everything but PianoRoll, the detection of unnecessary MIDI events in your MIDI file and the possiblility to write the audio-output of the "Virtual Sample Player" into a wave file.
- A full version (US $15) "MIDI Locator full version" which includes the named features in addition.
Both versions are written and copyrighted by Frank Rittberger. MIDI Locator free ! may be spread freely. Copying MIDI Locator full version is prohibited.
Technology
MIDI Locator uses standard MIDI and wave file formats, and DirectX for playing audio (samples, wave files) from within your MIDI sequence. It does not use technologies of foreign music software companies. There are no special drivers necessary to play latency free. Sound generation is done by DirectX with realtime sound buffers. That means that if you press a key on your MIDI keyboard, MIDI Locator's soft synth will play the sound in the same moment. It will sound in the same moment as you can hear a video game's shooting sound in the same moment, that also uses DirectX.
Windows compatibility
MIDI Locator was designed for Windows 2000 (NT 5.0) and Windows XP (NT 5.1). It needs Microsoft's DirectX and Microsoft's .net framework.
